Garage door opener not working in Burnt Store Lakes?
- Burnt Store Lakes sits east of Burnt Store Road across from the Marina. a 1990s lake-and-greenbelt community of single-family pool homes built mostly by D.R.
- Horton, Lennar and a handful of custom builders.
- Garages face the street with standard 16x7 doors, with a 9x7 added on the three-car layouts.
- The lakes and open greenbelt define the neighbourhood and, for our purposes, explain why the opener work here looks nothing like the rest of Punta Gorda.
Why locals call us first
- If your opener went completely dead after a storm, you are in good company — it happens more in this ZIP than anywhere else we work, because of the lightning that comes in off Charlotte Harbor.
- The good news is that the motor is nearly always fine and it is the control board that has gone, which is a far smaller bill than a new opener.
- We keep the common boards on the truck.
- Call us and we will usually have you working again the same day.

Frequently asked questions — Burnt Store Lakes, Punta Gorda
My opener is dead after a storm. Do I need a whole new one?+
Usually not, and that is worth knowing before someone sells you one. In the Lakes the motor almost always survives and it is the board that has taken the surge. We carry them, so it is normally same-day and a fraction of the price.
The door will not close and the light is blinking. What is that?+
That is the safety sensors either side of the door, and it is a small job. Call us — it is one of the quickest fixes we do and we will not try to sell you an opener for it.
Can you stop this happening every storm season?+
Largely. We fit a surge protector on the opener circuit as standard here, and it costs a small fraction of the board it saves. Ask for it when you book.
How fast can you get out to Burnt Store Lakes?+
Same day in most cases. Ring (941) 404-7235 and we will give you a real window.
